The National Housing Fund is a public fund of the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie, administered by the Department of Treasury. It was established by the Housing Finance and Consolidation Act, 1756, which merged the five housing funds and the investment trust created by the Federation's earlier housing laws into a single fund. The Act also directed into the Fund the proceeds of the land-value tax that it created by reforming the socialized housing tax first imposed in 1715 AN.
The Fund finances public housing and the housing programs that the 1756 Act carried forward under the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Its creation formed part of the consolidation of the Federation's housing law that followed the property-backed securities crisis and the financial-stabilization measures of 1755 AN.
