National Alexandrium Initiative
The National Alexandrium Initiative (Alexandrian: Initiative Nationale d'Alexandrium, NAI) is a comprehensive state-directed program launched on 12.I.1745 AN as part of the Great Patriotic Works Program to maximize extraction, processing, and strategic utilization of Alexandrium resources throughout Oportia. Announced alongside the Trans-Oportian Railway project[1], the initiative represents the largest single investment in Alexandrium development in Oportian history and serves as a cornerstone of the National Salvation Council's economic autarky policies.
The initiative consolidates all Alexandrium-related activities under centralized state control, replacing the previous market-based system with coordinated planning designed to maximize strategic value rather than immediate profits. With projected investment of 45 billion Oportian Mérite over seven years, the NAI aims to position Oportia as the dominant global producer and processor of Alexandrium while ensuring domestic supply security for defense and industrial applications.
