The Kingdom of Metonia was a small kingdom that existed between 1674 and 1676 AN. It had a variable population between 400 and 4000. Its capital was the only city, the Castle of Metonia. Melo I held absolute monarchy and had a firm grip on the nation. In 1675, Sanpanese forces infiltrated the castle and the First Metonian Battle took place. The war ended with the victory of Metonia. The kingdom surrendered and was annexed in 1676 when the Sanpanese surrounded it with a larger army the following year. Metonia Castle, located in the center of today's Baticino, still preserves its magnificence.
