Intangible Cultural Heritage of Nouvelle Alexandrie
The Intangible Cultural Heritage of Nouvelle Alexandrie (Alexandrian: Patrimoine Culturel Immatériel; Martino: Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial; Wechua: Mana Llampuy Kawsay Rayki) is a program established by the Department of Education, Sports, and Culture to identify, document, preserve, and promote living expressions of culture that are considered of outstanding value to the national identity of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The designation was established in 1704 AN through the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act, 1704, and as of 1739 AN, 173 cultural elements have received this recognition.
The program aims to protect traditions, practices, expressions, knowledge, and skills that communities across the Federation recognize as part of their cultural heritage. Unlike tangible cultural heritage (monuments, artifacts, etc.), intangible cultural heritage is transmitted from generation to generation and constantly recreated by communities in response to their environment, history, and interaction with nature.
