Hiking in Senya
Hiking is a popular recreational activity in Senya that is engaged with by millions of people each year. Senya has extensive networks of footpaths, cyclepaths, bridleways and trails which allow access to the countryside, as well as a number of national parks and urban parks which provide protected but useable green space.
The use of these spaces is balanced with the environmental goals of the society, to ensure that these spaces do not suffer from the excesses of mass tourism.
Right to roam
Senya has a rather extensive legal right to roam, which allows for extensive access to rural areas for Senyan citizens. Effectively, under Senyan law, any area of open countryside, landscape, forest and uncultivated land is open to be used for hiking. Restrictions are only applied to used farmland, protected habitats, military sites, transportation, development sites, houses (including all types of permanent human dwellings) and the private business locations. In these areas it is also possible for people to camp, though it is forbidden to light a fire in certain areas, such as within 25m of a tree, or on certain types of long wild grass.
