Healthcare in the Lanzerwald

The Republic of the Lanzerwald has a different approach to healthcare than other nations, which is based in the teachings of the Ludwiggian Reformed Church. In its healthcare policy, the republic seeks to find a balance between the care for its citizens, and respect for the divine plan of the Lord. As a general rule, the republic makes a distinction between apparent health and mysterious health. Apparent healthcare issues are issues such as a broken limb or an open wound that have a clear cause and that have to be treated out of compassion. Mysterious healthcare issues are issues such as various diseases and infections without a clear cause, or where the cause can only be determined by making an opening in the body. Books detailing the anatomy are also limited to describing the outer anatomy of the human organism, as any knowledge on the inner workings of the human can only be obtained by opening the body of a living human or corpse violation, both are highly taboo in Lanzerwaldian society.
