Glorieta is the capital and largest city of the República Vermejo. Over a third of the entire population of Vermejo resides in the city and its surrounding suburbs. It was founded in the early 1700s within Anahuaco as a stronghold of the Republicanos. The location was the site of an important battle between hostile forces of the Green and Guano settlers who were victorious and named the city for the glory of their success. It thrived during the early republic but was sacked during the Anahuacano Civil War, whereupon it fell out of popularity as the locals were repressed by the Imperialistas. However, the importance of the city as a port along the Trans-Keltian Express kept its economy afloat and it continued to grow until the disaster of the East Keltian Collapse. Much of the city was damaged during the interregnum until the arrival of Raul Sanchez and the Republicanos. Sanchez's progressive republican policies led to a quick restoration of municipal services and a strong investment in rebuilding the city. This led to rapid growth, coupled with a reopening of the city's port and reactivation of trains running the TKE, Glorieta saw a fast rise in economic prosperity. The otherwise hostile landscape of western Vermejo also kept most of the population from spreading beyond the Sierra del Sur, confined mostly to the fertile coastal region.
Today, Glorieta is an active hub for the republican government and specializes in imports and exports.
