Gia Long, commonly known as Gian by locals, is a city in Banh Nam located in the central region under the Kong Tang division. The city currently has a population of 3 million and is the 3rd most populous city in the country of Banh Nam.

History

A city located in the heart of the country, Gia Long was originally the city center of the city of Kong Thanh, before the ultimate seperation of Banh Nam into North and South, thus Kong Thanh was split into South Kong Thanh (Thanh Kong) and current day Gia Long.

Gia Long is famous for its cuisine, the most famous dish being the Gia Long Noodles (Bún Gia Long) which comprimise of flat rice noodles, locally fished Buen Fish, coriander and other local herbs to freshen up the fish broth. The dish is famous micraswide and tourists flock every fish season to Gia Long to taste the dish.
