Gaia, officially The Gaian 3rd Republic (Gaian: Repubblica Gaianiano de Troisième) was a micronation based, as a member of the Micronational Cartography Society, on Micras on the Eura continent as part of the CIS-bloc bordering Wachensburg and Jamzinia. It later became the Kingdom of Tellia, which can be considered its successor state.
Early History and Civil War
In the formative days of the CIS, Seperarist Zayd Al-Ani created Gaia as a CIS member nation formed on the principle of environmentalism, a nation essentially a puppet state inside CIS alongside others such as Conga and Freedom Republic. Gaian citizens were generally Papels under this arrangement until a ruler for Gaia within the CIS was found. That was all to change in 2006 when Gaia became a Kingdom with Queen Natalie I in charge, and a Romance influenced culture with Italian ConLang was created in Gaia. However, soon afterwards Prime-Minister James William resigned and Gaia went into decline and revolution occured. With a weak monarchial government, it seemed like the group proclaiming itself as the government of the Republic of Gaia were controlling the nation with freedom of speech and becoming the official government of Gaia. That was until Monarchy was restored with King Jeremy I (Jeremy Hart), also then ruler of New Brittania and Chi Nam.
However, Jeremy's rule did not last long and again civil disorder broke out. After over a week of civil war, Gaia was divided into North and South Gaia, North being a Republic led by Mattheio Tioluzzi, South being a Kingdom. This seemed to be a very unpopular decision within the CIS and it soon lead Gaia into a decline. This resulted in annexation by the United States of Amoria in 2007, which united it under Amorian rule as the State of Gaia (Staticizzo Gaianiano). This arrangement too was temporart, and on the 6th April, with the collapse of the United States of Amoria, Gaia itself became a sovereign state, the Third Republic of Gaia, with a newly introduced flag as can be seen above to replace the old CIS-era national symbols.
Gaia's Death and Tellia's Foundation
With the Presidency of Hieu in late 2007, the Third Gaian Republic suddenly transformed itself into the Kingdom ofTellia. Historical records on the change in name appear to have all been lost, but by early 2008 the former Third Republic of Gaia was referring to itself as the Kingdom of Tellia, ruled by King Christopher I. President Hieu disappeared from Gaian-Tellian politics and for a short while the national language of Tellia was referred to as Gaian. The newly formed Tellia then left the MCS shortly after the transition and went its own way in full independence. Tellia and its successor polities can therefore be considered in turn the successors of Gaia, created by Seperatist as a CIS member state, and the Italianate Tellian-Gaian culture introduced by Nathalie I can fully be considered a historic culture of Micras.
