Federal Emergency Housing Program
The Federal Emergency Housing Program (FEHP) is a federal program from the government of Nouvelle Alexandrie that provides temporary housing assistance to individuals and families who have been displaced by natural disasters. It is administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (Nouvelle Alexandrie).
The program is designed to provide short-term assistance to help people find safe and secure housing while they recover from the disaster and rebuild their lives and homes.
The program has three complementary and successive parts:
- The Emergency Shelter Program provides acute and short-term emergency shelter, as well as rental assistance, in the direct aftermath of displacement.
- The Transitional Housing Program provides transitional, medium-term housing, to individuals and families to accommodate for longer-term housing solutions and rebuilding of permanent housing.
- The Home Repair and Reconstruction Program assists in home repair and reconstruction, to help individuals and families to rebuild and return to permanent housing. This also includes rental assistance for low-income individuals and families.
The program also includes case management services, which help victims to navigate the recovery process and access resources and services such as disaster relief funds, food assistance, and medical care.
