The Federal Cultural and Sports Outreach Program is a federal program from the government of Nouvelle Alexandrie, that brings cultural and sports activities to underserved communities. It is administered by the Department of Culture and Sports.
The program is designed to provide access to culture and sports experiences to communities that are lacking access due to geographical, economic, or social barriers. It offers a wide range of activities, including:
- The Mobile Culture and Sports Centres Program funds the creation of mobile centres, including musical instruments, art supplies, sports equipment, and fitness machines.
- The Arts Exchange Program funds performers and artists to give demonstrations and lectures, and hold workshops, for all forms of arts including painting, sculpture, and photography; as well as music and dance.
- The Festivals and Tournaments Program funds the organization of sports tournaments and clinics, as well as cultural festivals for music, dance, and art; and provides technical assistance and support to underserved communities for existing culture and sports events.
- The Sports Mentorship Program provides young athletes in underserved communities with experienced coaches and mentors. It also provides training for sports safety.
- The Cultural Exchange Program partners with cultural organization from other countries to bring international cultural experiences and perspectives to Nouvelle Alexandrie.
The program has specific projects aimed at social justice in sports and culture, addressing issues such as racism, sexism, and homophobia.
