F-21 Whuhana
The F-21 Whuhana is an ongoing development program by the Sanaman Union Air Force to develop a successor fighter to the F-17 Axarana and F-11 Ashavan II that are still in Sanaman service. While the F-11 is still a capable fighter against most adversaries, it is outpaced by more modern platforms. The F-17, relying to a large degree on physical stealth, is also in danger of becoming obsolete in the face of massive advances in electronic warfare. The F-21 program was formed to develop a future-proof modular airframe, built from cutting-edge technology and packed with the latest in electronics and computing. The modular nature is supposed to negate the need for future full redesigns, instead allowing for gradual upgrades to the existing system. As of 1723, the status, future and results of the program are classified.
