Evan Rhys Calder (born 18.II.1712 AN) is a New Alexandrian politician and community organizer serving as a member of the Federal Assembly for South Lyrica in the 13th Cortes Federales. A member of the Democratic Socialist Party (DSP), he was first elected at the 1754 general election, in which the DSP won 47 of South Lyrica's 84 seats.[1]

Early life and local work

Calder was born in Lausanne, the capital of South Lyrica. Before entering federal politics, he worked in tenants' advice and local transport campaigns, with a focus on rent enforcement, bus reliability, and commuter access between Lausanne and the surrounding municipalities.

Federal Assembly

Calder entered the Federal Assembly as part of the DSP's South Lyrican delegation after the 1754 election. The party remained the largest force in the region, taking 55.23 percent of the vote, although it lost three South Lyrican seats compared with the previous election.[1]

In the 13th Cortes, Calder sits with the Alliance for a Just Nouvelle Alexandrie opposition bloc led by Marcos Ferreira Gonçalves. His work is associated with housing enforcement, public service funding, and regional transport policy.

Political positions

Calder is identified with the municipal left of the DSP. He supports stronger tenant protections, clearer federal standards for housing inspection, and targeted investment in bus and rail links within South Lyrica. Within the DSP caucus, he is regarded as a constituency-focused deputy rather than a national factional figure.
