The Energy Independence Act, 1744 is an Aerlan law and a key promise of Michel Sabbagh's 1740 Campaign. The law enabled the Aerlan government to allocate funds to domestic energy corporations to exploit untapped energy supplies, mostly nonrenewable sources such as coal and fuel, throughout the country. The bill was heavily criticized by environmental groups due to its emphasis on the exploitation of nonrenewable sources.

Green Aerla, an environmental organization founded in 1737 AN, announced that they would take legal action to block the bills implementation.

The bill would be repealed early into the Guthrie administration in 1750 AN.
