Elena Gloria Iris Val, also known as E.G.I. Val, was a Nouvelle Alexandrien novelist and author. She is generally remembered for her romance novels, especially the Romero series, written between 1701 AN and 1713 AN and spanning 21 books. While during her time her publication schedule and dramatic plots led critics to categorize her work as 'pulp fiction', her work has since achieved immense popularity and circulation. Aside from the Romero series, she published several standalone novels and shorter works. In addition to fiction, Val wrote non-fiction treatises on romance writing, unusual for her style, which revealed a highly self-aware and technical understanding of her craft.

Scholars in Nouvelle Alexandrie have highlighted her influence on narrative serialization, literary continuity across long-form novels, and the popularization of prose for a broad audience. She is recognised not only as a commercial success, but as a foundational figure in the development of the modern romance novel.

She died in 1750 AN from natural causes, having retired from writing in 1740 AN.
