Elections in Vicaro
Elections in Vicaro are held annually at the national level. Elections primarily determine the composition of the People's Assembly and, indirectly, the National Council and the Regents of the Executive.
Overview
Vicaro operates a mixed political system combining elective institutions with significant authority vested in the Heads of State. While elections are held regularly, they exist within a broader framework of appointed offices, noble oversight, and consultative governance.
Electoral Commission
Elections in Vicaro are administered by the Electoral Commission, a body composed of seven high-ranking nobles and judges appointed by the Council of Patricians. The Commission is responsible for:
- Organising and supervising elections
- Certifying and announcing results
- Regulating electoral procedures
- Calling emergency elections, often at the request of the National Council.
People's Assembly Elections
Members of the People's Assembly are elected by the people using a mixed-member proportional representation system.
