Biography
Damiano Cosmin was born in Agropl, a picturesque town located in the north of Vegno, into a family of farmers. Since he was a child he showed a great passion for wood and plants, helping his father in taking care of the small family farm. After attending elementary and middle school in Agropl, he enrolled in the industrial technical high school, where he graduated with top marks. He then decided to undertake a university career, enrolling in the mechanical engineering faculty of the University of Cossa, where he moved. After 5 years he graduated with a thesis on drip irrigation techniques, obtaining the award as best graduate of the year, before returning to his hometown again.
Entrepreneurial career
In 1705, Damiano Cosmin, after years of employed work, founded his first company in the manufacturing field: Cosmin Arredi. He purchased a small artisan carpentry shop in Agropl, which he transformed into a modern factory for wooden furniture and fixtures. The company produces custom-made furniture for kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as doors, windows, shutters and parquet, whose products stand out for the quality of the wood, attention to detail, innovative design and functionality . Among its main points of success were its particular bookcases, made of 100% pure oak wood, which attracted the attention of the most important local entrepreneurs and artists.
In 1718 AN he realized his long-held dream by founding Cosmin Irrigazioni, with the aim of offering innovative and personalized solutions for the irrigation of parks, gardens and fields. Thanks to his technical expertise, his ability to listen to customer needs and his entrepreneurial vision, Cosmin manages to grow his company, which soon becomes a point of reference in the sector. Cosmin Irrigazioni deals with both the design, construction and installation of irrigation systems, as well as maintenance and after-sales assistance. Among its customers there are public and private entities, agricultural companies and nurserymen. The Cosmin Irrigazioni is based in Agropl, where it has a large production plant and a research and development laboratory. The company has over 150 employees, including engineers, technicians and workers, and has a network of collaborators and suppliers nationally and internationally.
In 1720 AN, Damiano Cosmin further expanded his range of action, entering the world of tree pruning. He became passionate about this activity after following a specific training course, organized by an association of arborists. Thus, he created a new company, Cosmin Potature, which deals with pruning, felling, grafting and care of trees of all types and sizes. Cosmin Potature offers its services to both private individuals and public bodies, such as municipalities, parks, schools and hospitals. This company, like all the others of Cosmin, is also based in Agropl, where it has a warehouse of specialized equipment and vehicles, and has around forty employees, including arborists, gardeners and workers.
Private life
Damiano Cosmin has been married since 1694 to Antonietta, whom he met at university. The couple has two children, Salvatore and Ilaria, aged 25 and 30. Cosmin still lives today with his family in Agropl, in the house where he was born and raised, which he has renovated and expanded. Cosmin is also very involved in social issues, supporting various solidarity and volunteering initiatives in the area. A great football fan, he proposed his main company, Cosmin Irrigazioni, as the official sponsor within the Vegno 2024 Copa Apollonia bid.
