Agnus Cavendish is a Calbain politician who serves as the Governor-General of Calbion since 1752. He belongs to the Radical Faction.
Following the massive political turmoil after the death of Prince Deiniol and the Alwyn Betrayal, Prince Jack III and the incumbent Governor-General Hugo Lewis-Dreicdyn formed a political alliance which saw the suspension of elections for the Cynulliad Cenedlaethol, with the assembly elected in 1729 sitting for a period of 23 AN years. The lenght of the period between elections beat the previous 19-year record set following the Calbain Troubles.
Lewis-Dreicdyn resigned from his post in 1729 citing poor health, a move that eventually triggered the Nationalist-Realist deal that upheld the postponing of elections. In early 1752, the Prince of the Calbain dissolved the Assembly, paving the way for new elections which resulted in no overall majority, with massive gains for the Radical Faction. Following a confidence-and-supply arrangement with the Regionalist faction, Agnus Cavendish became the first Governor-General from the Radicals (including the United Workers), and the first elected Governor-General not from the Nationalist or Realist factions since William Nelson.

Early life and career
Born in 1708, Cavendish was born into an upper-middle class family from Pentyre. During his studies of law and economics at the Princely University, Cavendish became concerned with the cause of the working poor and the living conditions within the rapidly urbanised areas in Pentyre's outskirts. Cavendish joined the United Workers Alliance at age 19, and campaigned for the Worker's cause during much of his younger years. Renouncing his family's relative wealth and education, Cavendish became a foreman at the Pentyre Shipyards, as well as head of the Shipworkers Labour Union. In 1750, Cavendish became the leader of the radical faction, leading the left-wing movement to electoral victory in 1752.
