The Evermurk is a mythological underworld purported to exist below the surface of Micras. The legend has been kept alive through oral and some written traditions in various cultures. Today it is primarily held to be true by many folk living within Ashinthael, although other pockets exist, most within northern Apollonia and northern Keltia; although some tribes are rumored to also have tales of the Evermurk in Hypernostria. While the existence of the Evermurk has not been proven by science, it has also not as yet disproven it.

According to most mythologies, which remain consistent across several cultures, the Evermurk is a series of vast caverns and tunnels that exist some 3 miles below the surface of Micras. The Evermurk is not one vast connected area; some caverns and areas are completely isolated from others. The depth also varies, with 3 miles being the average; this also affects temperature and climate within those areas, as deeper areas are closer to the thermal layer and thus warmer.

The origins of the Evermurk can be traced back to the People's Republic of Hell, a demi-mythological nation itself that warred with the early Apollo Sector, primarily with the Flying Islands of Jasonia. The PRH was purported to be a nation of demons who had gained egress to the surface world. They were driven back into the depths and the tunnels from which they emerged dynamited. But several other battles were fought with the Infernals, with one major instance being fought with Karnali, in which they emerged from tunnels across several continents. These tales are, however, ancient history and have since been relegated to mythological folktales. Even so, many current cultures maintain that the Evermurk and its inhabitants exist deep below the surface, waiting for the day when the earth may shift and grant them access to the surface once again.
