The Emirate of Al-Khadra is a realm of Hurmu, located across the River Glacei from Lontinien. Annexed to Hurmu in 1708 AN, it was from 1704 AN until 1708 AN occupied by Hurmu following the conclusion of the Barikalus–Hurmu war. From 1707 AN until 1722 AN, it was known as the Al-Khadra District. It shares land borders with Çakaristan to the east and Lac Glacei to the north. To the west lies the River Glacei and to the south the Antican Sea.

The capital is not the city of Al-Khadra, from which the emirate takes its name, but the newly built city of Khanabad.

History

Since 1694 AN, the region was part of the Emirate of Arbor in Barikalus, as part of the taifa Maerifa (Arboric: معرفة) of which Qurtuba was the capital. With the transformation of the emirate into a de republic, the Arboric Republic of Barikalus, the taifa opposed this. As a result, the Maerifa Free State was formed and became one of the factions in the Arboric Civil War. The faction had a short existence as it was attacked by the republic in 1703 AN and captured. The region became a springboard for the terrible attack on a civilian ship in the port of Ghawlama. After which the region became the scene of the Barikalus-Hurmu war. Only the city of Qurtuba remained out of the hands of the republican forces.

The region was liberated by the Hurmu Peace Corps after Hakim bin Alsalam began his advance towards the republic's capital, Madinat al-Fath. After the victory over the republic, the country was divided into occupation zones, with Maerifa becoming the Hurmu occupation zone. A new city was built, Khanabad, which was designated as the capital. Under the Dasil Agreement, roughly the western half of Maerifa, with the border about 72 km east of the River Glacei and north of Qurtuba, was conceded to Hurmu. A new city was built, Khanabad, which was designated as the capital. Under the Dasil Agreement, roughly the western half of Maefia, with the border about 72 km east of the Glacei River and north of Qurtuba, was conceded to Hurmu. Then the area was called Al-Khadra District, under the government's authority.

With the outbreak of the 1719–1720 Hurmu civil conflict, the district initially remained under government control. But after the Apollonian Security Assistance Force (ASAF) moved in from the east, the Senate of the Lakes regained control of the area. After the Charter for the Order of the Holy Lakes was adopted, the district was transformed into the Emirate of Al-Khadra.

Geography

The emirate lies in most marshy section on the east bank of the River Glacei. Many rivulets and streams originating from the Red Mountains (Arboric: جبال الأحمر) enter the emirate from the east that wet the area. A veritable den of watercourses, lakes and streams. This provides a unique landscape for this part of Apollonia. The south coast is part of the fertile strip along the northeast coast of the Antican Sea, which is called Qitae al-Bahr (Arboric: قطاع البحر).

Government

The Emir of Al-Khadra (Arboric: أمير الخضرة) is the ceremonial ruler of the emirate. The succession follows the line of the Prince among the Lakes by Daniel Kalirion. The current Emir is Aurangzeb Hakimi bin Alsalam.

The Emir does have the power to appoint the Nayib al'Amir (viceroy). The current Nayib al'Amir is Yafar Sayfasad.

The Majlis Al'imar (Arboric: مجلس الإمارة) is the parliament of the emirate. Elections to this parliament are scheduled for 1723 AN.

Infrastructure

The Apollonian Express crosses the emirate with two routes. The Ghawlama-Madinat al-Fath route with a stopover in Khanabad. And the Vadimbaatar-Qurtuba route with the intermediate stops in Al-Khadra and Khanabad.
