Wrighthaven is a constituent governorate of the Ciric Confederacy, located in the western portion of the confederacy's territory on Sypyr. Wrighthaven is the most populous, largest, and the richest territory, as well as being the province in which the majority of the confederate capital of Mourn is situated.
Overview
Wrighthaven is the hilliest region of the confederacy, being the only constituency of the governorate to not be dominated by flat tundra-like terrain. It borders the River Terminus on its western bank, and encompasses land from the southern coast of Sypyr to the northern coast. The capital city of Haven is located in the center of the hilly portions of the region, which are colloquially called the Laston Hills.
Politically, Wrighthaven is the most right-leaning governorate, being the headquarters location of the confederate Conservative Party and the Confederate National Alliance. However, as with the rest of the confederacy, the region is still left of centre. Its current governor, Hailey Brauns, is a member of the confederate Workers' Party, which advocates for democratic socialism. This is a major turn of events for the constituency, as it is the first governor in the region's history since unification to have a socialist bent. It's a move that the social elite of the region have contested, due to the region's reputation as the "home of big business", with the largest city of the region, Stonewall, housing the headquarters of a number of confederate businesses, as well as the Confederate National Bank and the confederate stock exchange. However, it was the disquiet of the populace of Stonewall in particular that caused the overall shift towards socialism in the governorate, as research into the social quality of Stonewall proved that, though the standard of living was quite high compared to many other areas of the confederacy, the working conditions were lower than these other places.
Wrighthaven is home to three distinct ethnic groups; the Wrighthavanians make up the majority of the population of Wrighthaven, but two ethnic groups, known as the Lumendaffë and the Sámkóla, live in the rural portions of the governorate. These groups are rarer in urban cities, but they have been known for their cultural pride and for their preservation of their native languages.
