The World Association of Non-aligned Countries was formed in 1704 by Cisamarra, Hurmu, and Sanama. Kildare joined shortly after, though Kildare's membership is disputed by Hurmu (see below). The goal of the organisation is to provide a forum for discussion and cooperation between non-aligned nations, defined as nations that are not members of the Raspur Pact or USSO, which is the only membership criteria.

Member nations

  • Cisamarra Cisamarra (founding member)
  • Hurmu Hurmu (founding member)
  • Sanama Sanama (founding member)
  • DARK Kildare (application received, pending MCS membership)

Events

Soon after the the funding of WANC, the syndicalist Democratic Apollonian Republic of Kildare (DARK) declared itself a founding member of the Organization, with the approval of Sanama.

Hurmu disputed these facts, saying that Hurmu has no relations with DARK, and that, moreover, DARK was an unrecognized state. In order for WANC to be completely non-aligned, then a pre-mature recognition of DARK might be implied as an anti-USSO and a pro-RP message, which the Hurmu government was keen to avoid (as it has been wrongfully accused many times of being pro-RP).

Following the Hurmudan protest, it emerged that inexperienced Sanaman diplomats were to blame for an unfortunate misunderstanding regarding the status of Kildare. The possible membership was instead classified as "application received".
