Will Zóma is a Passasian-born Craitish football player who plays as a striker for Lega A Vegnese club Atletico Mhazar and the Craitland national football team. He is regarded as one of the most prolific strikers of his generation in Micras football.

He spent the majority of his professional career with Eĵars Town FC, with whom he won 7 trophies, before moving to Atletico Mhazar in 2023. He is also the second most prolific player of the Craitland national football team with 68 goals scored in 111 appearances.

Club career

Early career

Zóma began his professional career in 2007 aged 17 with the team of the city of his birth, South City Rangers, as part of the club's inaugural squad for the first ever season of the RNSL Division 2. The league was disbanded the following year, leaving Zóma without a professional team.

After failing to seal a contract with any clubs in either Passas or his parental homeland Craitland, he was offered a deal by Enthdoverian outfit Oceran Owls after their establishment in 2010. Despite the ENFL League's collapse soon afterwards, Zóma attracted interest from teams in the Victorian Premiership and he ultimately signed for Buthminster Athletic in 2011. Following a strong performance in the league's début season, Zóma was signed by a Craitish club for the first time in his career as second-tier Eĵars Town FC acquired him for free later in 2011.

Eĵars Town FC

The first years (2012-2014)

Zóma's first foray in Craitish football was the 2012 season, when the team was in CrFA League 2 and in that year, thanks to the second place earned at the end of the season, he and the club were promoted to CrFA League 1, the top tier of football in Craitland. He also won his first winner's medal in the 2012 Cities' Cup final victory.

In 2013 he played for the first time in League 1, without however obtaining great successes and finishing the season only in 7th place.

From 2014, with the departure of Tim Isrdlvarien, he became one of the team's key players, scoring 8 goals in the league and becoming the team's top scorer in that year. The results at the end of the season were an improvement on the last one, with a fifth place in the league and a second place in the 2014 Cities' Cup, defeated only in the final by Xäiville Teflons FC.

The years of consecration (2015-2018)

From 2015 he began to score more regularly, immediately becoming one of the more consistent goalscorers in League 1. In the 2015 season he scored 13 goals in 36 games, allowing the team to reach third place in the standings and achieve their first historic qualification to the WMFA Champions' League. He also contributed significantly to winning the 2015 Cities' Cup that same year, the last one currently won by the club.

The following season started with the best expectations for Zóma, with the team able to compete in the three national competitions and the 2015–16 WMFA Champions' League for the first time in the club's history. Despite the 17 league goals, which made him the third most prolific player of the season, the team did not go beyond a fourth place finish, thus not qualifying for the 2016–17 WMFA Champions' League for the following year, where they did not go beyond the quarter-finals, defeated 1–0 by JHI-rrân Lwrrân Klyha.

In the 2017 season, Zóma gave his best performance ever, providing 24 goals, which guaranteed him the title of top scorer in the league for the first time, where he led the team up to second place, seeing the dream of the title fade away against Cherry Trees FC by 10 points. In the 2017 King's Cup the team followed a good path, blocked only in the final, where they were defeated by Sverige Tiem FC.

In 2018 he confirmed his qualities by once again winning the title of top scorer in League 1 with 21 goals. The rest of the team, however, did not repeat the good things shown the previous year and, despite Zóma's goals, finished in fourth place, which still allows the team, thanks to the play-offs, to qualify for the following year's WMFA Champions' League, where instead, this season, they were defeated 2-1 on aggregate by FC Fiorecittà in the quarter-finals.

The years of the titles (2019-2023)

The 2019 season, despite not being the most prolific of his career for Zóma, was certainly one of the most important: in the league he scored 22 goals, second in the top scorer rankings, and led his team to win its first national title, finishing first by 5 points ahead of Cherry Trees FC. The 2019 King's Cup ended in the quarter-finals, and the 2019 Cities' Cup in the semi-finals, but the best performance of the team in a cup was certainly in the WMFA Champions' League where they finished in second place after a triumphal journey. In the semi-finals, after a defeat against Romero Sport in the first leg, they managed to overturn the result also thanks to Zóma's brace which allowed them to qualify for the final, where they were defeated by their compatriots from Sverige Tiem FC 3–1.

At the end of 2019, he won the 2019 FMF Champions' League in his first participation with Eĵars Town FC: in the final Zóma scored twice, putting the definitive seal on his team's victory with the goal in the 83rd minute and thus winning the trophy in his first participation. In the league, despite the 21 goals scored, he failed to confirm the levels of the previous year, being overtaken by teammate Łukasz Dąbrowski and taking the team to second place in the standings, 9 points behind champions Cherry Trees FC.

In 2021 he returned to being the team's top scorer in the league, with 14 goals, finishing as runners-up for the second consecutive season, again behind Cherry Trees FC. However, the national balance remained positive given the victory, for the first time, of the King's Cup, thanks to the 1–0 in the final against Kealb FC. In the 2020–21 WMFA Champions' League the team did its best, winning finally the trophy that slipped away in 2019. Zóma's goals in the first leg and second leg of the semi-finals ensured Eĵars Town FC to qualify for the final, where, in a Craitish derby against Cherry Trees FC, Zóma scored in the 3rd minute and the victory went to Eĵars Town FC by 5–4, giving both the team and the attacker their first WMFA title.

Also in 2022 he confirmed his top form, scoring 20 goals in the league and once again leading the team to second place in League 1. In the 2021–22 FMF Champions' League, Zóma's performances were excellent with 7 goals in the group stage, which guaranteed Eĵars Town FC to qualify as runners-up; in the round of 16 they meet Dynamo Deacon, where ,despite Zóma's goal, they were defeated on penalties and eliminated from the tournament.

The 2023 season represented Zóma's last year at Eĵars Town FC; the striker scored 20 league goals, surpassed only by team-mate Jack Smith and Jan Tórsen of Róndlinga Diamonds FC. Thanks to his goals and good performances of the team, he ends his career in Craitish football with the championship victory, 5 points ahead of Kealb FC. In the 2022–23 FMF Champions' League, he scored 7 goals in the group stage and made his team qualify as first in the group. In the round of 16, he scored twice in the first leg against FC Kaupang and the team qualified for the quarter-finals where Zóma scored another brace. In the semi-finals they met RTP Adiwira FC and, despite Zóma again scoring twice in the first leg and one in the second leg, the team was defeated on penalties, where Zóma scored the first of the series.

In the summer of 2023, he left Eĵars Town FC after 12 years, with more than 150 goals scored, 7 trophies and two top scorer titles.

Atletico Mhazar

On 30 August 2023 he joined Lega A Vegnese club Atletico Mhazar for Cr 8m fee plus Cr 1m add-ons.

International career

Zóma began his career in the Craitland national football team in 2015, just after the disappointing edition of the 2015 FMF World Cup, where the home national team failed to go beyond the quarter-finals.

In 2016 he joined the squad on a permanent basis and was called up for the 2016 Benacia Cup, where, however, he was often relegated to supporting actor to the advantage of the more experienced and highly rated Freddie Gaärsen, who played most of the matches. Despite not many minutes played, he still managed to score a goal in the tournament, during the 3rd place match against Karalakh, which the team won 3-0, bringing home the bronze from the competition.

In the following year the Craitish team qualified for the 2017 FMF World Cup, where Zóma received for the first time a call-up for a FMF World Cup. In this competition, despite the team finishing with full points in its group, they failed to go beyond the quarter-finals, where they were beaten by Tellia 3–1. In this edition Zóma found more space and managed to score 4 goals, including a hat-trick in the group stage in the 6–0 win against Gotzborg.

He was also called up for the following 2018 Benacia Cup where he failed to leave a decisive mark: the only goal of the striker is right in the final, where the team, after an uphill walk both in the group stage where they qualified as runners-up and in the semi-finals where they beat Tellia only on penalties, manage to triumph 2–1 against Shireroth and bring home the first Benacia Cup title in their history. Zóma won his first title with the national team, scoring one goal in the competition.

He was called up for the 2019 FMF World Cup, where his journey ended again in the quarter-finals, defeated by the hosts Birgeshir. In this edition Zóma scored 3 goals: two in the group stage, which contribute to the 4–2 victory against Natopia and 2–1 against Jingdao, and one in the quarter-finals, where the team is defeated 2–1 and eliminated from the tournament.

Zóma set to score his first goal in the 2021 FMF World Cup quarter-finals against Thracistan.

He participated also in the 2020 Benacia Cup as reigning champion and protagonist of the tournament: he scored 3 goals, which guaranteed him the shared title of top scorer. The team qualified first in the group for the semi-finals, where Zóma scored twice in the final 5–0 win against Batavia. The striker also scored in the final against Sanama, which however saw his team being recovered twice in the score and finish in a 2–2 draw, only to be defeated on penalties 5–3, where Zóma converted the first in the series. He finished the tournament in second place, however winning his first silver medal at an international competition.

He was also called up for the following 2021 FMF World Cup in Floria, where he showcased his best performances. Throughout the tournament he scored 7 goals, winning his first title as top scorer of a FMF World Cup edition, significantly contributing to his team's path in the tournament. He scored 4 goals in the group stage: a penalty in his debut in the 5–0 win against North Antarctic Domain, a brace in the 4–2 win against Unified Governorates and another penalty in the 3–1 win against The Hexarchy. He also scored twice in the quarter-finals in a 3–0 win against Thracistan and a last-gasp goal in the 90th minute in the semi-finals against Meckelnburgh, allowing the team to reach an FMF World Cup final that Craitland had been missing since 2011. Unfortunately they were defeated by the hosts Floria by 1–0 and Zóma wins his first and only silver medal at a FMF World Cup. At the end of the tournament he secured the title of top scorer and was included in the team of the tournament.

Will Zóma celebrating after scoring his third goal in the play-off round against Sanama in the 2023 FMF World Cup.

His strong performances for both club and country were rewarded again in 2022, when he was called up again for both the 2022 FMF Confederations Cup and the 2022 Benacia Cup, where he played prominently. In the Confederations Cup he scored both in the semi-finals, where he led the team to victory against Mercury on penalties, and in the final, where, thanks to his goal, Craitland won 1–0 against Senya to bring home the first FMF Confederations Cup title of its history and handing the striker his second title with the national team.

A few weeks later at the 2022 Benacia Cup he scored a hat-trick on his debut in the 6–0 win against Shireroth and a goal in the 4–0 win against Sovereign Confederation, allowing the team to go through first in the group. He scored again in the semi-finals in the 2–0 win against Sanama and in the final against Tellia where, thanks to his goal in the 79th minute, he allowed the team to win 2–1 and win their second Benacia Cup title and his third trophy with the Craitish national team .

At the age of 33 he was called up again for the 2023 FMF World Cup in Mercury, where, however, he did not start the first matches of the group stage, but was recalled to start the final group match, where his performance boosted the team to manage, albeit with difficulty, to qualify for the play-off round as third in the group. Against Sanama in the play-offs, however, he started on the pitch, given the team's difficulties and, thanks to his hat-trick in the 5–2 result, Craitland qualified for the quarter-finals. Against Senya in the following match, he was in the first XI again, however being replaced in the 82nd minute and seeing his team defeated only on penalties. He therefore concluded the 2023 FMF World Cup with 3 goals scored and became the ninth most prolific player in the history of the FMF World Cup with 17 goals scored in just 4 editions.
