The idea that Micras has no North and South Poles, but rather West and East Poles' is commonly accepted in Alriggian science but rejected in most universities in other Micran nations. The idea is derived from the diary of Fürst Ludwig of Walstadt, who claimed to have sailed from Caplona in the south of Micras to Leng in the north of Micras in less than a day, without passing through warm waters. Scientists associated with the Sankt Ludwigshafen Universität calculated that this would have been impossible if the North and South Pole would be on opposite sides of the planet. Rather than seeing this as evidence that refutes the writings of Fürst Ludwig, they saw this as evidence that refutes centuries of empirical science and proposed the idea of West and East Poles as an alternative.
