The Aldurian-West Baatharzi conflict, widely referred as the West Baatharzi War, is a series of military clashes involving the Republic of Alduria, the People’s Front of Baatharzabad, as well as various non-state militias acting from within the West Baatharzi Green.

The People’s Front of Baatharzabad (PFB) recruited militants in West Baatharz from among the families of native Euran populations that had been expelled or fled due to the creation of Alduria in 1669 AN. Other non-state militias also rose in the West Baatharzi Green inspired by the PFB, which include the Iteran People’s Organization (IPO) and the Eurani Front of Liberation (EFL).

After the IPO leadership and their brigades were expelled from the areas currently known as Antakia upon the founding of that nation, they entered West Baatharz, where violence among the groups increased as they tried to carve out fiefdoms and areas of control.

Soon after the conflict sparked among the militias for control of West Baatharz, the PFB began launching scathing rocket and mortar attacks from the unsettled banks of the Nouradin river against the Aldurian settlements on the other side. Soon these attacks increased as Aldurian settlers, mainly Caputians and Alexandrians, began to obtain license from the Aldurian government to settle and pacify West Baatharz.

Alduria’s 1675 invasion of West Baatharz pushed the PFB further into the hinterlands of West Baatharz, but the PFB continued their campaign against Alduria. The construction of new settlements along the Nouradin riverbanks and the growing waves of Aldurian settlers fueled rapid development, which then added more recruits for the militias through displaced persons and put added pressure on the militias to attack Alduria and its new settlements.
