The United Empire of Landingberg-Schoninreich, later known as The United Empire of Ländersreich, was the successor state to Landingberg. At its height, the United Empire composed of the lands of Northwest Apollonia that lay west of the River Camoleo, went south past Lake Lamantia towards the border with Shireroth but never extending to Lake Christoph, and northwards following the coastline with the Northern Sea and Floyd Island. Its western border was composed of a hundreds of mile long border with the Holzer Empire with which the United Empire shared many cultural similarities. The two countries were rivals, culminating in the War of the Broken Pottery, or as it was known in the United Empire "The Lando-Holzer War".

Unification

The United Empire was formed when Landingberg merged with her sister state, the Empire of Schoninreich. The ruling House of Schoninreich was defunct and as its closest relative, it passed to Aleksander Wilhelm III of the House of Asher.

Instead of keeping the two countries separated, the Kaiser decided to unite the two countries and along with the help of his government created a new Constitution and set into motion plans for a new Capital City, Reichdorf. Reichdorf, while still technically in the borders of Landingberg, was felt to be more "neutral" territory as it was located in a part of the country with a high population of ethnic Schonins, and was roughly equidistant from Asheriana and Scheon, the two former capital cities.

Organization

The United Empire, much like it's Holzer neighbors to the West, was composed of tiny states and regions that were under the control of local ruling families who held their lands in title only. These titles, however, harkened back to a time where these noble families ruled the lands for the Kaiser and in turn received protection from the crown. While several of these states were under the control of Noble families, several others were in a personal union with the crown.
