Unit 666: a friendly biological research department in your neighbourhood.

Unit 666 is a covert biological research and development unit of the Imperial Armed Forces which is primarily tasked with researching and comparing the DNA and ethnic traits of the Jingdaoese people. It has also developed capabilities for microbiological warfare, and radioactive cleanups. The unit is associated with the II Banner Army, also known as the 1st Tegong Banner Army. The rank of the commander of Unit 666 is Guangludaifu, in Istvanistani: glorious grand master. The unit's headquarters are located in Daishu, Heilong district of the Qaoshan province.

The unit dates back to the early days of the First Empire. Their existence became first public after the Yuan Rebellion in 1593. It became known that the unit's research was used to investigate why some Jingdaoese, like Yuan Windsor, rebelled against the Imperial Household and the Heavenly Throne. It was believed this was could not be solely because of them being culturally influenced by outsiders, but also because of an error in their DNA. The research results were later stolen and used by private companies, who sought to enhance simple Jingdaoese and turn them into super soldiers. One of those investigations led to the outbreak of a mutant virus, which ultimately led to the death of the Danya Emperor in battle and the rise of the Geming Kingdom. The unit was also active in Alduria in 1674 AN to investigate the nuclear wastelands and attempt to clean them up. Nowadays, to the public, the organisation is known to be active in research into the health of the Jing by means of the haofuxi. In 1687 information leaked that Unit 666 had attempted to immunise soldiers to arsenic, to counter effects of the new 7.62×67mmB munition in use by Raspur Pact countries. The experiment was stopped when alarmed scientists warned that the element is bioaccumulative, but not before several experiments turned out to be fatal.

In the aftermath of the Second Kildarian Revolution and the Decade of Inharmonious Regrets, the surviving members of Unit 666 were sought out by allied and corporate research teams keen to glean insights from the data and experience amassed by this formation over its long history. Interviews were reportedly conducted over the duration of several months in 1707 AN and 1708 AN at a secluded villa on the island of Gong, facilitated and watched over by certain interested parties who were most insistent upon curating the information sharing exercise.

The expertise of Unit 666 specialists contributed to the pacification of the primitive population of the Iridian Isles during 1707 AN1708 AN. A successful outcome which ensured the survival of the unit and the safety and comfort of its officers and men.

Transferred to the Allied Mission in Greater Kildare in 1715 AN.
