The Syndicalist Party of Batavia, in Batavian known as the Syndicalistische Partij van Batavië (SPB), was a Batavian political movement which replaced the Batavian Worker's Party in 1685 AN. It was reformed from a small political far-left party into a popular mass movement by Pieter Beeck and Tim Zageman. It came into existence after a dispute within the Bataafse Arbeiderspartij: while several socialists advocated a peaceful overthrow of the nobility and rich classes, Pieter Beeck advocated an immediate revolutionary change within Batavian society. Looking at the Amokolian Revolution, he deemed the time right: the centrist-right government was becoming increasingly unstable. The dependence of foreign powers was loathed, and with the collapse of the Vanic Web and subsequent retirement of the popular and influential king, Arkadius IV, the syndicalist movement grew in influence.
