The Sovereign Avak was the currency and legal tender of the Sovereign Confederation. The Chamber of Assay of the Avakair Mint and Bullion Depository issues banknotes and coinage. During the Confederation's admittance to Elwynn as an Autonomous Republic and the period of martial law that followed the Republican War, the Avak was phased out of use in favor of the Elwynnese Mark and Benacian Sovereign, respectively.

History

In the era preceding the Civil War in Goldshire, the Shirirthian Erb was historically minted by the Assayers of Avakair by contract in times requiring high output. Their professionalism, eye for detail and familiarity with less legitimate means of business made them ideal to ensure the integrity of any coinage minted under their supervision. Following their loss of legitimacy in the aftermath of the Civil War, the Assayers founded Assayer Armaments in a successful bid to regain favor with their increasingly paranoid and militant King Ryker. During the Kalirion Fracture, the Assayers were granted governmental authority over eastern Suthergold (renamed "Norestria") as it declared sovereignty from the Imperial Republic of Shireroth. In addition, they at last gained the sole rights and privileges to mint coinage and print banknotes for the Sovereign Confederation.
