Southern Aldurian Riviera

The Southern Aldurian Riviera, also known as "Côte du Sud in Alexandrian, is the Euran coastline facing the North Raynorian Sea in the southwestern corner of Alduria, in Nouvelle Alexandrie. There is no official boundary, but it is usually considered to extend as far north as Punta Santiago to all the way south, where Alduria shares a border with the Constancian settlement of Arak. The coast spans several Aldurian states, namely Biscarrose, Asuara, Napoleon, Valenciana, and Valladares. The Southern Aldurian Riviera includes the prestigious seaside resort towns of Fontainebleau, Fontruet, Valladares, Narbonne, Ahvaz, and Beauharnais.

The Southern Aldurian Riviera saw rapid development as one of the first areas where tourist resorts started developing. From 1669 AN to 1680 AN, the southern Aldurian coastline saw tens of thousands of new tourist and hospitality businesses open such as hotels, restaurants, bars, breweries, casinos, and other businesses. Beginning with health and spa resorts called Sanitariums, hotels, resorts, and other businesses proliferated in the Riviera, among them the large conglomerate HotelBev, the prominent Aldurian Cruises, the budget brand Hospitality of Southern Alduria, the Southern Food Service, PonteLopez Enterprises, and Alduria's largest restaurant group, Fouchet Beverage Group. Special tax credits enacted by the government of the then-independent Alduria aided the development of this autochthonous tourist industry, centered initially around beaches, casinos, special baths and salt baths, special health beverages and foods. The industry began to diversify further as the development of bars, breweries, wineries, and other related alcohol businesses increased dramatically, especially around resorts and restaurants. This was further fed by the explosion of island or town hopping cruises up and down the Southern Aldurian Riviera and to destinations in Constancia first launched by Aldurian Cruises.

As Alduria became more developed, the arrival of new roads, highways, ports, ferries, and railways better connected the Southern Aldurian Riviera to the rest of the country, it became the playground and vacation spot of Constancian, Ransenari, and Natopian politicians, businesspersons, and aristocrats. In early 1678 AN, the Southern Aldurian Riviera began attracting artists, poets, writers, and musicians of note in Aldurian and Constancian society. It was around this time that tourism tax revenues demonstrated that the area had become a popular tourist destination and convention site, in particular with the construction of the Fontainebleau Palms development and the Ahvaz National Convention Center. It is common for New Alexandrian celebrities and aristocrats to have vacation homes in the region as well, with some of them even owning some restaurants or stores in some of the resort towns near them. Development around the city of Ciudad Santa, Alduria centered around the city being a prominent religious site for the Alexandrian Church and for the Melusinian Church.

The Southern Aldurian Riviera is also a known as a major yachting and cruising area with hundreds of marinas along its coasts. The Southern Aldurian Riviera hosts 50 percent of the superyacht fleet of Nouvelle Alexandrie, with 90 percent of all superyachts and yachts in Nouvelle Alexandrie visiting the coast at least once in their lifetime.

The Southern Aldurian Riviera enjoys an average of 320 days of sunshine each year, over 3,500 restaurants and bars, a long coastline, a large amount of beautiful beaches, and 10 golf courses. The Southern Aldurian Riviera is also known for hosting the Grand Prix du Nouvelle Alexandrie in the city of Ahvaz, starting in 1708 AN, at the prestigious Ahvaz International Circuit.
