Shireroth was represented at Microvision 2021 by Kim Petras, with the song "Future Starts Now".

Description

This song was chosen to reflect the so-called Spirit of the 1700s, a state-endorsed artistic movement that consciously turns away from the staid past of the old Imperial Republic, the horrors of the Kalirion Fracture, and the maintenance of an old and irrelevant cultural hegemony. Instead, the Spirit of the 1700s seeks to prefigure a growing hope for Shireroth's future as a peaceful, stable, cosmopolitan society with bright colors, a reinvention and celebration of Shireroth's diverse cultural heritage, and reveling in this new beginning. Of particular significance is the singer's bona fides as a Draconian pop singer with strong ties to the Modanese Inclusive Liberation Front, a socially-progressive movement that was key to Modan's return to the Shirerithian fold and whose success despite the odds has invigorated other similar social movements elsewhere in Shireroth and helped kick off the Spirit of the 1700s.
