The Senyan Space Station is a space station orbiting Micras that was put into space and operated by the Senyan Space Agency. Originally constructed in late 1683, the station will become inhabited from 1684 onwards on a permanent basis. The station will be used a research base which can be accessed by any of the members of the Senyan Space Programme's working group.

Construction

Construction of the station to the point where it became habitable came via four launches of the Enigma rocket. The first launch on 19 XI 1683 brought up a docking module, a robotic arm and some solar panels, which were assembled by onboard astronauts. A month later, the second launch brought up three modules, including a storage module, a sleep station/crew quarters module and a laboratory for experiments. The third launch, a month further on, brought up two further laboratories and an additional storage space complete with two additional docking ports. The final launch will bring up supplies as well as a module to be used for exercising in, complete with a toilet. This module will also switch on the oxygen system to ensure that the station is habital. If they are successful, this will enable habitation of the first crews on the Senyan Space Station.

Crew

Crews will be made up of 8 astronauts, who will comprise an expedition. Astronauts will be brought to the station four at a time at intervals of five months, with each astronaut serving ten months onboard the station. A commander, selected from the four departing astronauts (i.e. the four who have been on the station for the longest) will be in charge of the day-to-day operation of the spacecraft, liaising with ground control in Lamantia.

Each crew member must past both physical and psychological test prior to selection, and must undertake training in Lamantia's Space City before their flight. Furthermore, crew members are required to be fluent in both the common tongue and Senyan prior to launch (foreign astronauts are given intensive language classes after selection to help them meet this requirement).
