Senate of the Lakes

The Senate of the Lakes (Hurmu Norse: Aldraraaðeð sjooa; Lakkvian: Järvede vanematekogu; Lontinan: Nuuruudyn Akhmadyn zövlöl; Crandish: Altonratt ties Zeivers), also known as the Senate of Hurmu and the Senate, is the upper chamber of the Parlerment (or legislature) of Hurmu, and is also the collective head of state of Hurmu.

It currently has 9 members who are elected by the Electors, that is the adult members of the Order of the Holy Lakes. The last election occurred in 1690. The next election is scheduled to occur in 1696 AN.

The Senate was originally created by Prince Andelarion as the Electorate of Hurmu in 1514. Quickly renamed to the Senate of the Lakes, it was in session from 1522 to 1558, from 1563 to 1574, from 1600 to 1603, and it has been in session since 1690 onwards.
