Originally founded as the Order of Secret Stripper Seekers during the War of Lost Brothers, the Sacrifices of Butauros is a sect of Bovic martyrdom seekers devoted to expunging Dionysian heresies from the continent of Keltia.

The Eparchy of Elijah's Rest, which exercises spiritual domain over the North-East Quarter of Micras, and takes an interest in the well-being of all sentient life found there, is hereby directed to embark on a Mission of Outreach to the lost souls on Keltia.

The Dozan Bovic Church has seen how the North-East has become increasingly destabilized following the rise of the Strait people. They are violent, brutish, creatures and have proven their inability to integrate into the great global community of Micras.

The Strait people and all practitioners of the Stripping Path have been found to be among the most intolerant people on Micras. Denominations of this 'religion' practice human sacrifice, espouse and celebrate misogyny, rely on puppy mills for their economy, illegal profiteering from surplus foods, brainwashing and coercion of state officials, promoting and encouraging piracy, apostates of our beloved Melusine sister-faith, among countless other atrocities.

Therefore, we do hereby establish the following Missions in the following cities, to provide a beacon of Bous's love as an alternative faith for those trapped under the capricious and violent spells of a false prophet walking a doomed Path.

  • The Mission to Jangsong
  • The Mission to Vaeringheim
  • The Mission to Jogi
  • The Mission to Mylecia
  • The Mission to Blore Heath

The Bosarchs assigned to lead these Missions into the heart of savagery are granted certain rights and indulgences to counteract the evil that has taken root in those Strait ports. They will attempt to correct the wrongly held beliefs of the Doomed Path with the love of Bous, which is at the discretion of the Bosarchs. Those who do not renounce the doomed Path will be found guilty of those moral sins committed in the name of the Stripping Path: human sacrifice, misogyny, brainwashing, piracy, illegal profiteering, and apostasy, and will be transferred for advanced reconditioning in the iron mines of Leng.

Overview

Clergy who have volunteered to be sacrifices possess a fanatical and unwavering devotion to the Pentheros and the Natopian people, receives in reward extensive payments and bonuses for themselve and their families, and receive a thorough and ongoing education concerning all levels of Pallisican society and the perversities of Dionysian worship. Operationally they are in constant communication with each other and their commanders, utilising the "Dead Kalgachi Drop" amongst other methods, and can operate independently or as larger teams as circumstances require. Once deployed behind hostile lines, operatives are incorporated into self-contained cells, without awareness of or communication with other cells, in order to limit the exposure of the wider organisation to corruption or coercion in the event of an individual being captured or turned.

Clerics on active assignment have instant suicide implants, are under constant surveillance and tracking by Natopian Spacefleet satellites, and simply cannot be co-opted to work for the enemy, as the fallback of remote activation of implants by central command remains available if an asset has been deemed compromised. Naturally, attempting to remove or isolate the implant will activate the implant, as one double-agent found to her cost in 1659.

Whilst in spiritual matters the Sacrifices continue to bow in submission to the Bovic Church, operationally and logistically, the church militant in Keltia relies upon the Department of Political Warfare formed the Natopian Ministry of Security's force assigned to Keltia Command.

Vetting of clergy for recruitment and assignment is undertaken by Shirerithian agencies whose operatives are purposefully selected so as to be without personal ties to the Keltian continent of any kind.

Martyrdom operations

Beneath the Sacrificial Clergy are to be found the Strivers for Redemption; these lost souls were Normarker heretics who succumbed to the corrupting influences of Bassarid witches during the height of the insurgency, and who, having been reclaimed by the inquisitions of the Bovic Church, must now redeem their souls and the honour of their families by expending their blood in the blessed slaughter of Haifans and recalcitrant "Normarkians". One of the foremost duties of the clerics is to herd the errant Strivers towards the cause of holy martyrdom, ensuring that they do not succumb to fears or temptations on the road to glory.

For every successful operation concluded a feast day is decreed the the Bovic Church - and truly there can be no greater nor more praise-worthy act of redemption than in the example of the sinning calf Norbet, whose striving for redemption came to its end as he pulled the pin on a mustard gas canister and strode bravely into the midst of a Bassarid kindergarten in Hagbard on 11.I.1663.

Approximately one hundred and thirty thousand lapsed heretics were recovered by the inquisition of Holy Mother Church, and the path to salvation for each and every one of them lies in the emulation of the Blessed Norbert.

High Secret Order of the Stripper Seekers

In the 37.87 propaganda film by Banä Maäz entitled "Butyrous," agents of the Sacrifices of Butauros are portrayed as Dionysiac tragic models, who - suffering from intense maenadism - destroy their homes, their communities, and ultimately themselves.

An early success for the organisation was the thorough and meticulous penetration of the Foreign Ports of the Stripping Path as double and, in some mind-boggling cases, even triple agents. Straining the credulity of handlers on both sides.
