The River Warriors is a region that is under Jingdaoese control. The cultural capital of the region is Mahūti, also known as Jingbuzu.

Referendum and secession

The region seceded from Senya in the year 1620 as the River Warriors Apollonian Republic, and became part of the Apollonian Confederation after 64% of the people voted in favour of that option. Other options were independence (5%) and remaining part of Senya (31%).

Special status

After the Apollonian Confederation, with its federal structure was succeeded by the unitary Jingdaoese Empire, the River Warriors Apollonian Republic lost its political autonomy any more and is fully absorbed into the Jingdaoese unitary state.

The Jingdaoese state promotes Rivorian culture however, with many folk singers singing subsidised songs about the love of the Heavenly Light for the Rivorian people and vice-versa. The Jingdaoese state is highly suspect of Senyan attempts to regain the territory, and want to avoid that the river warriors become unhappy with the imperial government as that would provide fertile grounds for secessionist movements. Projects have been set up to detect any signs of malcontent as soon as possible, both at individual level as on communal levels.

One such project is the Hao-Cong (Istvanistani: personal relation/submission) Project. Goal of this project is to give all Rivorians a personal reason to love and obey the Chidao Emperor.

When a Rivorian is for example unhappy with their job, a job councillor who presents him or herself as being sent by the emperor himself assists the Rivorian in finding a new job that suits the Rivorian better. Other examples include more-or-less random discounts at grocery shops, where the cashier happily exclaims that the Chidao Emperor loves the Rivorian so much that he offers to pay part of the bill.
