The Qavaqaqqaqqaniitqeqertaq national football team is the football team which represents the Mercurian autonomous region of Qavaqaqqaqqaniitqeqertaq. It is a member of the EMUFA, after originally being affiliated to the CTFA, and is run by the Qeqertaq Sport Forbund.

History

Qavaqaqqaqqaniitqeqertaq applied successfully to join the FMF after the territory was founded by Mercury in early 2015. In the year's qualifiers, the team finished bottom of their five-team group with three points to their name.

The qualifying rounds for CiboTap 2016 saw the team finish fourth in their five-team group with four points.

The team finished bottom of their five-team 2017 FMF World Cup qualification group with a sole point to their name.

The team competed in the 2018 CiboTap Championships qualification rounds, where they finished bottom of their four-team group after losing all six matches. The team then participated in the 2018 Emerging Nations Cup, winning their quarter-final and semi-final before being beaten by hosts Xang Muang 4–2 to finish as runners-up.

In the 2019 World Cup qualifiers, the team finished third in their five-team group with 13 points.

In the following year's CiboTap qualifiers, the team finished second in their four-team group with ten points and advanced to the play-offs, where they overcame Greater Sangun by virtue of away goals to reach a first ever finals. At CiboTap, the team finished bottom of their four-team group after three heavy defeats. The team switched allegiance to the EMUFA shortly afterwards.
