The Prince of Rimarima is a title of nobility in Nouvelle Alexandrie. It is traditionally granted to the eldest child of the reigning King of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The current Prince of Rimarima is Uturuncu, the eldest son of King Sinchi Roca I.

History

The title was first bestowed under the first Wechua Kingdom by Sapa Wechua Atoc Pachacuti upon King Manco Cápac I, in 1655 AN. Prior to this, the title was in existence but it was ceremonial and mostly invested on the High Priest of Rimarima. Over the centuries, the title was wrestled away from the religious hierarchy and integrated into the temporal hierarchies until it was made official by Sapa Wechua Atoc Pachacuti in 1655 AN by decree. The designation "Prince of Rimarima" draws upon the historical and cultural significance of the city of Rimarima to the Wechua Nation and to Nouvelle Alexandrie, underscoring the central role the title holder plays in the nation's heritage and governance.

Role

As the title is traditionally held by the heir apparent to the New Alexandrian throne, the Prince of Rimarima is often entrusted with responsibilities that prepare them for future kingship. This may include representation of the King in official ceremonies, diplomatic missions, and other royal duties.
