The politics of Mercury take place under a parliamentary system. The head of state and head of government is the President. The nation's legislature consists of two houses, the Mercurian Parliament, which is a 400-seat chamber elected via the instant-runoff voting system, and the Mercurian Senate, which consists of 50 representatives.
