Phillip "Phil" Phillipson is a Beaugian former-footballer who last played for Zekäbelóman Kahthajtensen FC in Craitland. He was the joint-top scorer at the 2006 FMF World Cup with six goals.
Club career
Phillipson's first professional club was Ripon Rovers in Riponia, whom he joined at the age of 26 in 2006 ahead of the side's inaugural Premiership campaign. In 2008, following that season, Riponia was declared dead and its league dissolved, leaving Phillipson without a club.
Phillipson joined Craitish League 1 side Sverige Tiem FC on a free transfer in the summer of 2008, taking the 24 jersey. His first season was underwhelming as Sverige finished fifth, but six league goals for the striker as he forged a strong partnership with Piero Donetti led the team to their first ever title the following year. Sverige finished third in the league in 2011, as Phillipson recorded a best ever personal goal tally with ten, but won their first King's Cup title. Phillipson's role at Sverige was reduced in the 2012 season, but his contributions helped the club to a second league title in three years.
At the age of 32, Phillipson agreed to join newly-promoted Zekäbelóman Kahthajtensen FC for their first top-flight season; moving for a fee of Cr 3 million and taking the number 19. Phillipson spent two seasons with ZK, being utilised in rotation with Zyx Lydveldtsen to partner Tór Fredriksen, as the club struggled for league success but did reach the 2013 Cities' Cup final which they lost. Phillipson retired in the summer of 2014, at the age of 34, after scoring four goals in his final year.
International career
Phillipson was called-up for Beaugium's squad for the 2006 FMF World Cup, where his strike partnership with Steve Stevenson proved fruitful as the team went through the tournament without losing a match to become the first ever FMF World Cup winners. Phillipson's personal tally of six goals during the competition matched that of Lee Jin-Su as both players shared the inaugural top scorer award.
During a short hiatus of Beaugium's FMF membership in early 2007, Phillipson gained eligibility for Lovely, but Beaugium returned in time to compete in the qualifiers for the 2007 FMF World Cup, where Phillipson helped them advance to the finals, where they could only finish bottom of their group. The team failed to reach the 2008 FMF World Cup, but qualified in 2009, where Phillipson scored three goals to help the team to finish fourth. Phillipson scored his last World Cup goal in 2010, as the team finished bottom of their group again. Whilst Beaugium remained an FMF member until 2012, with Phillipson continuing to be involved in the team setup, they failed to reach another tournament finals. He ended his international career as Beaugium's joint-top World Cup scorer, alongside Stevenson, with ten goals.
Following Beaugium's demise in 2012, Phillipson gained eligibility for New Victoria, until early 2013, and subsequently Pontus, up until his full retirement in 2014, but wished to be never considered for a call-up from either.
