On July 31, 2021 a [[2021 New Batavian secession referendum|referendum]] was held, in which the governorates of [[Al-Ard Al-Moestasliha]] and [[Dar Al-Hoeriya]] voted to secede from New Batavia. That only to governorates voted two secede, was unexpected.
