The Mahoz HaSephardim national football team is the football team which represents the Ashkenatzi autonomous territory of Mahoz HaSephardim. The team is a member of the AEFA.

The team is seen as the spiritual successor to both Matbaa and Kefr Zeh in that the vast majority of its players originate from these two nations' teams, but it retains the records of neither.

History

Mahoz HaSephardim applied successfully to join the FMF after the territory was founded by Ashkenatza in mid-2009. The team competed in its first World Cup qualifiers the following year, and finished second in their group behind Novatainia by a point before losing 4–2 on aggregate to Holzborg in the play-offs.

In the 2011 qualifiers, the team finished bottom of its three-team group with Novatainia and Victoria. However, the group was so closely-fought that the team still only missed-out on qualification by virtue of goals scored.

The team's fortunes improved in the following year's qualifying, topping their group on goal difference ahead of Hurmu to seal their first ever FMF World Cup appearance. The team also competed in the inaugural Copa Apollonia later in the year. In the World Cup, the team finished third in their group with three points, missing-out on the quarter-finals on goal difference. The team was more successful in the Copa Apollonia later in the year, topping their group and beating hosts North Antarctica in the semi-final before losing 2–0 to Novatainia in the final.

The 2013 qualifiers continued the team's success as they qualified for a second World Cup and Copa Apollonia by topping their group five points ahead of Toketi. In the Copa Apollonia, the team failed to advance from their group, finishing below Gerenia by virtue of goals scored, with three points. The team was also unsuccessful in the World Cup, where they failed to advance from their group on goal difference despite winning two matches.
