Kurgoko Vecht (born circa 1645 AN), is, as of 1709 AN, legate of the Benacian Union and formerly a candidate for the Atamanship of the Upland Confederation, the UGB-Kalgachia condominum and protectorate established by the Treaty of Gloomburg.

Kurgoko Vecht, warlord and aspirant to the Atamanship of the Upland Confederation.

Amongst the murderous hierarchies of the Lach clans, and from the lowest of beginnings, Kurgoko rose from the position of a slave in the Imperial Republic of Shireroth to become a warlord of Inner Benacia by virtue of a murderous ambition and a certain cunning guile which has allowed him to navigate the pitfalls of dealing with the Council of the Perfecti and Benacia Command and emerge from those encounters not only alive and corporeally intact but also in an advantageous political position.

Since his arrival in the Upland Confederation, Kurgoko Vecht has presented himself as a veteran Tamtḥemat of the Ŝḥenĉeł'yhe and the Imperial expeditions to Crestfall and to the Guttuli. In the latter instance in particular, Vecht has, when in his cups, repeatedly claimed credit for turning the flank of the Salb Ikol during the Shirerithian conquest of the Guttuli Protectorate. To date no-one has questioned his account of his part in the Imperial Expedition to the Guttuli and survived the swiftly avenging riposte of his blade.

Whatever his actual rank and standing, the evidence would point to his having been indeed an impatient shareholder in the Guttuli expedition who saw the end of the Guttuli Protectorate as an end to opportunities, had accumulated wealth from selling POW's back to the Lord Lieutenant, and decided to go west to the Unified Governorates where the options were perceived to be more lucrative.

Whilst his accounting of his past remains a matter of some debate amongst those safely outside the reach of his sword-arm, his efficacy in collecting overdue revenues from villages in the Governorate of Upper Lywall swiftly endeared him to the Civil Executive of the UGB, affording him the cover by which he was able to assemble a modest but accomplished armed retinue and cross over into the Upland Confederation during the fifth month of the year 1687.

Recruited to serve as the commander of the security detail attached to the 1702-1703 Northbloom Expedition, he subsequently was appointed resident legate of the Benacian Union in Northbloom, where he helped negotiate a critical treaty with the entity known as Mondo.
