The Konservative Historische Partei (KHP) (Common Tongue: Conservative Historical Party) is the governing majority party of Francia since 1672 AN. The party delivers the so far only chancellor of the Kingdom of Amokolia, now the Frankish Empire, Augustin Prager.

History

During the first days of the revival of the Kingdom of Amokolia, classmates and close friends, Augustin Prager and Christof Dahn, organized a Conservative forum. This event was a counter-reaction to the left-wing sentiments among students. Even before the start of the event, it became clear that the enthusiasm for the event was greater than previously thought. As a result, it was extended over several days in order to welcome all interested parties.

This success was seen as a momentum to transform this multi-day event into a political movement, a political party. This idea was launched as a test balloon at the event and received very enthusiastically. There were already more than 11,000 pre-registrations to become a member of a yet to be founded conservative party. On the day after the last day of the event, the Conservative Historical Party was founded. A temporary board was formed and a short position programme was drawn up.

The party grew explosively in membership and in 1673 AN the first party congress was organized. The party board was elected, largely consisting of the founding board, and a party programme was adopted, largely consisting of the short positions programme. Augustin Prager was elected as party leader and participated in the first elections of the revival kingdom of Amokolia. In those elections, the party won 68 of the 100 seats in the Reichstag.

Unionsfraktion in Reichstag

Since 1680 AN the party cooperates with the Parti populaire de Gascogne (PPG) (Common Tongue: Gascon People's Party) to form the Unionsfraktion (Common Tongue: Union fraction) in the Reichstag. In elections of 1682 AN, this joint fraction obtained a majority of 385 of the 738 seats. However, this is only a win of 61 seats out of the 238 eligible seats in these elections.

Because this union fraction has the majority in the Reichstag, the chancellor comes from this party. Augustin Prager, party leader of the Conservative Historical Party, has been the chancellor since the revival of the Kingdom of Amokolia.

Organisation

Chairman

Christof Dahn

Co-founder of the party, Christof Dahn, was initially temporary chairman of the party, but was re-elected as chairman during the 1673 AN party congress.

Party leader

Augustin Prager

Augustin Prager was elected party leader at the 1673 AN party congress. Due to the election victory in 1674 AN Augustin became chancellor. Criticism arose during the government under Augustin, such as his support for the treaties with the Raspur Pact, such as the Concord Treaty. This treaty decreed the official short name of the Kingdom of Amokolia, namely "Amokolia", in "West Amokolia".

Members

The Conservative Historical Party is a true member party. A party congress is held annually, usually in relation to planned elections. During the party congress all kinds of things are discussed and decided by the members present, such as:

  • The composition of the party board;
  • The election of the party leader;
  • The political direction of the party, as expressed in the party programme.

A party of the same name was founded in Elwynn, which between 1675 and 1678 had a delegation of 11 representatives in the Elwynnese congress elected from East Amokolia. This party was heavily associated with the policies of the Frankish government. This resulted in the party being banished in Elwynn on 11.VII.1678 AN for supporting the Froyalanish and Vanic cause. This ban and the arrest of party members, candidates, donors and affiliates caused a diplomatic crisis between Elwynn and Francia.

The Conservative Historical Party has been a member of the International Union of Conservatives since 1683 AN. This organization was founded in Northcliff, Florian Republic.

Positions

The KHP party positions boil down to the following key points:

  • Loyalty to the Kaiser: the preservation of the monarchy as an active part of the state administration. While value is placed on the representation of the people, the Kaiser should not become powerless in the government.
  • Proclamation of freedom: the fundamental rights of freedom of expression, religion and press remain unlimited.
  • Historical affiliation: the preservation of cultural and historical traditions, such as from the rich history of Amokolia, Elwynn and Shireroth.
  • Balance of powers: a well-equipped army must protect the country against foreign enemies. The right to possession of weapons must protect the citizen against a tyrannical government.
  • Justice for all: the principle of justice, including punishment for the crimes committed during the Froyalanish genocide.

Movements within the party

Within the Conservative Historical Party there are various movements active, each of which has more or less influence on party policy. These movements are not formally organized into subgroups, but can be distinguished as follows:

  • Catologian Right: many members are professing members of the Holy Catologian Church and a smaller part of members are professing members of the Amokolian Orthodox Church. [1]. Positions under this movement are: marriage for one man and one woman, fierce opposition to abortion and resistance to nudism.
  • Francia First (Germanian: Francia Zuerst): a movement originating from the "Frank und Frei" movement, with the standpoint of an isolationist Francia. No foreign interference, exit from the Batavian Confederation and deletion of article 44 from the constitution.
  • Union Conservatives: a movement striving for the unification of Amokolia, Elwynn and Shireroth. There is discord over the degree and manner of unification. An extreme view is armed unification.
  • Björtolfia Conservatives: a movement that, in addition to the unification of historical Amokolia and Elwynn, also strives for a union of Batavia, Francia and Stormark. These nations are referred to as the Lands of Björtolfia.
  • Free Conservatives: supporters of absolute freedom, such as the freedom to wear clothing or not.
