Kirudofea, or Kildfare, is the company that operated Jingdao's national railway network since 1564 AN. It predates the Great Jing and was established during the Middle Jierdai Dynasty in an attempt to connect the isolated rural parts of the country to its cities. Lack of funding and expertise, despite interest from several high ranking Kildarian nobles, and superstition hindered the railways expansion beyond connecting the major cities.

During the early Great Jing Dynasty, its importance grew. Especially due to the need to transfer military troops from one side of the expanding empire to the other. While remaining an important part of the mobilisation and movement plans of the government (despite modernisation of these plans during the 1690's), it saw a sharp rise in commuter transport during the 1670's and 1680's. Freight transport remained limited.
