Kaiseress Aurefiction is considered to have been one the more controversial Kaisers in Shirerithian history. Her predecessor Kaiser Raynor X had appointer her as his successor as an experiment, despite the warnings of some of his closest advisors, to see what would happen when he named someone from outside the "expected pool" of kaiserables his successor.

The aftermath of Raynor's selection would be interesting, to say the least. Aurefiction had little to no experience in leadership, and so many of the decisions she made were odd. A handful of citizens were capable of pressuring the Kaiseress into doing their will with little resistance on her part. The pressure built up. She ended up cracking and issued a number of unusual decrees that attempted to change the face of the Imperial Government, such as . All of them were either immediately or eventually repealed. The anxiety and anguished led her to depression and mental illness. She abdicated hours before killing herself in Raynor's Keep, leaving Meskan Harvey Steffki as her heir. In her final will, she banned the imperial bloodline of Metzler (thereby including the branches Grifos and Haiken) from ever succeeding to the throne.

She also wrote a suicide letter:

I am weak, and thus – this. I'd like the whole of Shireroth to know that all the recent decrees that I passed were nothing but a way to express my ideas on the amelioration of Shireroth. The new Kaiser can and should feel free to revoke any of them at any time. I'm sorry for anything I did and anything I didn’t do, but please, remember, I would have NEVER done anything that I didn’t think to be in Shireroth's the best interests. I went from a simple lost newbie to the highest position available in no time. I thank you for that. It was a pleasure being your Kaiseress! Now, you have what I call "proper leadership". Please give me a decent burial... Anyhow, all the best. But remember, I'll be BACK!
—Kaiseress Aurefiction

She was survived by her morganatic husband, Balty Majeed, with whom she had one child, whom Balty raised, Amaltheia. Amaltheia married the Babkhi–Baatharzi politician Fath Ali Nouradin, with whom she had the daughter Roshanak. In turn, Roshanak married Tahmaseb Abakhtari, Shah of Babkha. Thus, among Aurefiction's (and Tahmaseb's descendants) may be found Kaiser Aurangzeb, Kaiseress Noor, Kaiser Ayreon IV, and Kaiseress Salome, as well as Jaaguzan, Shahanshah of Çakaristan.

Legacy

Most of the elders of the nation were entirely dismayed by Aurefiction's performance as Kaiser, but there were many who thought her fresh ideas were just what the nation needed. Her name was often championed in the decade after by political reformists, claiming that she was the best thing to have happened to the nation. They attempted to have the The University rededicated in her name in order to take a shot at the Old Boys' Club, though this campaign ultimately failed. Instead, they got a lesser university named after her, which was later destroyed by Kaiser Mors III.

Her proposal of delegating executive leadership of the ministries to a Kantzler later saw fruition with the evolution of the Steward to heading the executive departments. Moreover, she attempted democratic reforms which later led to the establishment of the Folksraad and the Adelsraad.

Kaiseress Aurefiction is remembered for declaring her favourite fruit, the mango, the official fruit and symbol of Shireroth, and for implementing the Mango-Camel Pact (a treaty that saw Shireroth and Babkha allied to one another, and a predecessor to the Raspur Pact).
