The Iron Cult national football team is the football team which currently represents the Bassarid Periphery constituent nation of the Iron Cult, and previously represented the independent nation of the same name. It is a member of the WMFA.

The team has existed twice in the FMF's history; firstly between late 2018 and late 2019 as an independent nation, and secondly since late 2019 again independently and in its current form.

History

The team was founded in late 2018 after the Iron Cult's Micrasian claim was successful. They first competed in the 2019 World Cup qualifiers, where they finished bottom of their five-team group after losing all eight of their matches. Soon afterwards, the team competed in the 2019 Emerging Nations Cup, losing their quarter-final 2–1 to Incontinentia. The Iron Cult left Micras in late 2019 before returning again shortly afterwards.

During the 2020 qualifiers, the Iron Cult joined with Alperkin to form the Bassarid Periphery, with each constituent nation retaining its separate FMF membership. In the qualifiers themselves, the team finished bottom of their four-team group after losing all of their matches and failing to score.
