The Prime Minister of the Wechua Nation (Wechua: Inkap Rantin) is the head of government (Uma kamayuq) of the Wechua Nation. The holder of the office heads the Council of Ministers and is appointed by the Sapa Wechua, with the confidence of the Council of the Wechua Nation. The Prime Minister holds the office at the pleasure of the Sapa Wechua but can lose office if they lose the confidence of the Council. The Prime Minister serves as part of the executive and a legislative leader, and together with their Cabinet is accountable to the monarch, to the Council, to their party, and ultimately to the electorate, for the government's policies and actions.

The office of Prime Minister in the Wechua Nation evolved from the ancient position of chief advisor to the Sapa Wechua (King), known traditionally as the Inkap rantin. In ancient times, the Sapa Wechua would usually appoint a close family member to the position. The officeholder would serve as the closest advisor and enforcer of the King.

The current Inkap Rantin is Vicaquirao Alvarez, who took office in 1673 AN. His party, the Social Democratic Club, holds a large working majority in the Council of the Wechua Nation, the Wechua legislature.

Inkap Rantin's Office

The Inkap Rantin's Office (often abbreviated as IRO), located at Querococha House, is one of the most powerful parts of the Wechua government. It is made up of the Inkap Rantin and their top political staff, advisers, and policy experts who are charged with advising the office holder on decisions, strategy, and messaging.
