The Humanitarian Mission in former Caputia (HMFC; Craitish: Hjumanitäriähn Misión yhn fórmór Caputija; Hoennese: Template:Ja HN, KDOJ; Krasnocorian Cyrillic: Хуманитарна Мисија у бившој Капутији, ХМУБК; Martino: Misión Humanitaria en la ex Caputia, MHC; Palesmenian: Húmarisety Musíno en Aúskahrí Caputa, HMAC; Swedish: Humanitära uppdraget i forna Caputia, HUFC;) is the special humanitarian mission implemented by the Craitish and Krasnocorian and Norrlandic forces, later joined by the Hoennese, a limited number of Palesmenians and Los Liberados (in San Pedro), after the fall of Caputia's government and the outbreak of the Haifan Civil War. The goal of the mission is to prevent all conflicts in the regions where the joint-peacekeeping force is present, and to soften economic impacts that are directly negatively affecting the lives of citizens. Part of the significance of the HMFC lies in it being the first significant military action by a force assembled by the non-aligned powers of Micras since the world war between the Raspur Pact and USSO bloc.

Objectives

The current tasks of the HMFC are following:

  • to prevent all conflicts between anti-Bassarid and pro-Bassarid sides;
  • to assist displaced persons, refugees and citizens whose everyday lives are hardened by the political and economic crisis;
  • medical assistance;
  • security and public order;
  • support for the establishment of civilian institutions.

Timeline

2019

January

  • In late January (A.N. 1668), the government of Los Liberados announced its plans for a humanitarian intervention in San Pedro, in order to rescue the population from the expected disasters of the Haifan Civil War. The Liberadosan government, together with the Iron Company and supported by the member states of the Batavian Confederation set up a 3-step plan for humanitarian intervention. The first would be to establish a quick route of transport both over seas and by air, the second would be to stabilise the San Pedrovian borders, and the third step would be the evacuation of the roughly 400,000 people still residing in San Pedro by the end of 1668. By mid-1669, the mission had entered stage 3, and over 150,000 people have so far been evacuated from San Pedro to Los Liberados.

Unable to bypass the blockade which had been imposed upon the island of Hoenn, the Hoennese aircraft were prevented from supporting the Palesmenian forces in their mission. The Palesmenian forces were able to complete their mission without Hoennese support. This lead to an escalation of conflict between the Bassarids and Hoenn.
