How Wrong Can You Be? is a Craitish television quiz show series broadcast on CrTV. Described as the antithesis of a traditional quiz show, its format rewards contestants for incorrect answers to questions whilst punishing correct ones.

Format

The show is separated into rounds throughout which five teams of two are eliminated until one team remains in the final challenge. Each of the opening three rounds consists of a question which has previously been put to members of the public, and teams take it in turns to guess possible incorrect answers that may have been given by the public. Points are awarded based on the number of people who gave a specific incorrect answer, with the aim of the round to be one of the teams with the most points after both team members have answered. The team with the fewest points is eliminated and does not advance to the next round. However, if at any point the correct answer to the question is given, usually by accident, an automatic elimination is given to that team and the round ends immediately with every other team advancing.

The penultimate round, between the last two teams, sees multiple questions asked in a best of three scenario with the same premise, meaning a team must outscore the other twice to reach the final challenge. In this round, a correct answer only forfeits the question in play rather than the entire best of three game. In the final challenge round, the remaining team is given the choice of three questions to choose from and must give three answers to the chosen question. To be eligible to win the show's jackpot—which begins at Cr 1,000 and rolls-over to increase by a further Cr 1,000 each episode until it is claimed—the team must either give the highest-scoring incorrect answer, whilst avoiding the correct answer, or give all three answers as eligible options (i.e. all being wrongly named by at least one member of the public asked). If the team is unable to win the jackpot, they instead take home a prize of Cr 500 to share and a trophy each for successfully reaching the final challenge.

Example question

In this example, Team 3 has answered the question correctly and so are eliminated from the show in this round. Teams 1 and 2 both gave incorrect answers which had also been given by at least one surveyed member of the public, as reflected in their score. Team 4 gave an incorrect answer which the public did not give, so have no points and would have been eliminated if Team 3 had instead given a scoring incorrect answer rather than the forfeited correct one. Teams 1, 2 and 4 would advance to the next round.
