A DECREE BY THE LIGHT OF HEAVENS
REVISING THE 354 EGA DECREE ON OUR CALENDARS

We, the Chidao Emperor, sole and absolute ruler over the Jingdaoese Empire, Light of Heavens, send greetings to our servants.

We wish to revise a decree that we have issued in the daor 354, about the calendars in use in our empire. From this date onwards, the following three calendars will be in use in our empire:

1. The South Batavian calendar, which counts from November the 12th 2011, which is 1 EGA, or the first daor. A daor starts on a Saturday and is seven earth days long. This calendar is used for all official purposes.
   
2. The Pallisican Scientific Standard Calendar, which is based on the Apollo Calendar, but divides the date in ASC by the number of days in one Micrasian orbit (183). This calendar is used for scientific purposes, to make it possible for Jing and Pallisican scientists to work closely together.
   
3. The Norton Calendar is used for history purposes, as it makes it easier to integrate our history writings with those of foreign historians. The Apollo Calendar has previously been used for this purpose, but is losing popularity and its use is considered to be deprecated.
